[Update 2:12 PM PT] The incident cause is resolved. SDSC Cloud instances that use ephemeral disks should now be functional again. Please report any lingering issues to support.
[Update 1:10 PM PT] SDSC engineers continue to troubleshoot the SDSC Cloud Compute issue. We continue to advise only creating new instances with volume storage for root disks while the issue persists and minimizing interactions with existing instances that use ephemeral root disks.
SDSC engineers are troubleshooting an ephemeral disk problem in SDSC Cloud Compute. Updates will be posted here.
New instances using ephemeral disks may not be created correctly. Previously created instances that use ephemeral disks may not be accessible remotely and the instance states (running, shelved, etc.) may not be able to be managed.
New instance creation issue workaround: creating an instance with a volume instead of an ephemeral disk should work. Please note that volume storage may incur storage charges. If volume storage should not be used due to budget concerns, please wait until the issue is resolved to create an instance with an ephemeral disk.
